Metal spinning is treating plate material in a non-cutting fashion. A template is placed on the spinning lathe to which an annular blank is tightened. While turning, the plate is moulded around the template. This can be done both manually and computer-controlled. When performing template spinning, a tentacle follows the outline of the template, which is subsequently hydraulically transferred to the spinning tools. Ideal machinery for repetition work. If you consider its technique, they are in some way comparable to copying lathes. For us, they were the forerunners of the subsequent CNC-driven spinning machines. These CNC machines differ in the way that they are much more user friendly. They can be quicker adjusted and have a larger capacity, especially the size that is to be used can be executed with an accuracy of 0,05 mm.
All sorts of material can in principle be spinned. The most commonly used material is aluminium, however, stainless steel copper, brass and steel are also regularly used.
